Moreover, the poll suggests that 71% of Europeans believe the euro is good for the EU.

The highest support for the euro was recorded in Luxembourg (79%) and Ireland (75%), while the Italians are the most sceptical at 49%.

The Eurobarometer poll also found that some 29% of respondents from the eurozone believe that there are too many coins of different denominations. However, 89% would not want the 1-cent and 2-cent coins to be abolished.
