Number of tourists in first nine months up 11.8%
The number of domestic tourists increased by 10.4% compared to the January-September period last year, and they generated 8% more overnight stays.
There were meanwhile 12.4% more foreign tourists in the period, who generated 8.6% more overnight stays year-on-year.
In September alone, Slovenian tourism facilities recorded 361,290 arrivals or 9.7% more than in the same month last year. Overnight stays increased by 7% to 895,437.
The number of domestic tourists increased by 6.7% compared to September 2014, and the number of overnight stays they generated was up by 6.4%.
There were 10.6% more foreign tourists in September year-on-year, who accounted for 7.3% more overnight stays.
Foreign tourists generated 71% of all overnight stays in September, most of them coming from Germany (16%), Austria (13%), Italy (11%), the United Kingdom and Israel (5% each).
