Having started out as a sole proprietor thirty years ago, Železnik now owns a limited liability company with sales of over five million euros last year that has 90 employees.

The company produces metal parts for car makers including Volkswagen, Mercedes, Toyota and PSA Peugeot Citroen, with the automotive sector accounting for 70% of sales.

KGL plans revenue growth of 40% next year.

The OZS also noted that the company pays its engineers and highly skilled professionals above-average salaries, which would be "even higher if taxes were not so high".

This was also the message delivered by Branko Meh, who urged the government to cut contributions, increase tax credits and remove unreasonable administrative obstacles.

Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek said the government was lending an ear to business in its quest to create a more competitive and business-friendly environment.
