Cross-border film festival

Oct 16 - Oct 22

A cross-border film festival dubbed Tribute to a Vision is taking place in seven cities in Slovenia and Italy, featuring innovative short films and celebrating 100 years of Armenian film.

Until 22 October film screenings, exhibitions and discussions will take place in Ljubljana, Maribor, Nova Gorica in Slovenia and across the border in Gorizia, San Pietro al Natisone, Trieste and Udine.

The programme includes seven films directed by Bulgarian director Stefan Komandarev, the winner of the festival's award, as well as a selection of Armenian feature and short films.

Some 50 fresh and innovative short films from 14 countries will be featured as part of the First Crossings section under the slogan More stories, fewer borders.

The festival will also pay tribute to Mako Sajko and Vittorio de Seta, two non-conventional film-makers.

Disco Boy, the debut feature film by Italian director Giacomo Abbruzzese that won the Silver Bear Prize at Berlinale, will be screened on 19 October in Nova Gorica.
