Contemporary dance festival

Nov 23 - Nov 30

CoFestival, an international festival of contemporary dance at Kino Šiška, will see productions applying innovative choreographies to question the relations between dance, composition, the society and media.

The programme is divided into two main segments. The first highlights a selection of artists who have created fresh, contemporary and diverse choreographies relating to the cultural contexts of the former Yugoslavia, and Austria, bringing attention to the body, the history of dance, how choreographies are featured in media, street dance, and composition.

The second, more international part focuses on productions which talk about the open border between dance and how such kinetic movements are perceived.

The 12th edition of the festival opens with a photo exhibition by Urška Boljkovac and a performance by choreographer Christos Papadopoulos, Larsen C.

In addition to Kino Šiška, the events will take place at several other venues around the capital, including the Old Power Station, the Ljubljana Dance Theatre, the Metelkova Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre.
