Slovenian punk movement in photos

A photo exhibition Slovenian Punk & Photography at Ljubljana's Cankarjev Dom provides insight into various aspects of the Slovenian punk movement from 1977 to the mid-1980s, as well as the periods before and after punk.

The first such a comprehensive exhibition on the punk movement also traces subcultural and alternative events in Ljubljana during the 1980s, with a focus on the emergence of the LGBT+ community in the 1980s, and bands such Laibach and other subversive activities.

Mounted by the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU) and the Cankarjev Dom culture centre, the exhibition has been curated by Marina Gržinić, a principal research associate at the ZRC SAZU Institute of Philosophy and a full professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
