Held for the 26th year running, the Documentary Film Festival will feature 25 films, to be screened at Ljubljana's Cankarjev Dom, Kinodvor Cinema and the Slovenian Cinematheque.

The competition programme will see five documentaries on human rights, including the opening film, Snatched From the Source - Slovenian Children of Lebensborn by Maja Weiss. The film tells the story of four Slovenian children who were taken from their parents to be part of the Lebensborn programme during WWII.

Man in Black by Wang Bing portrays Wang Xilin, one of China's most important modern classical composers who was the target of severe persecution, enduring beatings, imprisonment and torture.

Total Trust by Zhang Jialing is a documentary on the high-tech surveillance of the Chinese people by the state.

Kumjana Novakova's film Silence of Reason discusses rape and sexual slavery during the Bosnian war.

In Bottlemen Nemanja Vojinović tells the story of impoverished people who collect plastic bottles at a waste disposal site and resell them.

The Retrospective segment will be dedicated to Nika Autor, a Slovenian film-maker, whose oeuvre consists mainly of short films.

Other programme sections bring topical and socially critical documentaries, intimate and global portrayals, as well as a section on myths, icons and the media.
