Photo exhibition Istanbul - Faces of Freedom
Apr 26 - May 26 Ljubljana
A series of photographs taken by photographer Manca Juvan in Istanbul to draw attention to changes in urban areas are on show at Moderna Galerija, the Slovenian museum of modern and contemporary art.
The exhibition Istanbul: Faces of Freedom is an integral part of Freedom of Metropolis (2017-2022), a project which explores the freedom of urban and metropolitan life.
Part of the project is a book by the same title, written by Juvan and historian Oto Luthar, which features photos and essays exploring the idea of freedom in cities.
The exhibition was produced by the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU), headed by Luthar, and the Metelkova Museum of Contemporary Art, which is affiliated with Moderna Galerija.
