Canoe Slalom European Championships
May 15 - May 19 Tacen
The Tacen white water centre on the northern outskirts of Ljubljana will host the Canoe Slalom European Championships between 15 and 19 May with a parallel slalom for the Ljubljana City Prize to be held on the Ljubljanica on 13 May.
The championships will see six Slovenian canoeists and kayakers, including Olympic champion Benjamin Savšek, who still needs to win a ticket to Paris to defend his gold so he will be aiming for the top spots.
Eva Terčelj, who has already qualified for the Paris Games, will be Slovenia's favourite among women kayakers.
The championships will start with an opening event in the centre of Ljubljana and will see a number of accompanying events.
In a prelude, Slovenian and foreign competitors will take part in head-to-head heats on the Ljubljanica at Cobblers Bridge on 13 May.
