Exhibition showcasing artists' response to social and climate change
May 24 2024 - Jul 28 2024 Kostanjevica na Krki
Works by a dozen artists from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia that try to raise awareness about the impact of humans on nature are on show at the Božidar Jakac Gallery in SE Slovenia in an exhibition called New Era: Artistic Discourses on Social and Climate Change.
The works address social phenomena affecting climate change, thus providing insight into a number of ecological challenges from the perspective of contemporary art.
"The artists also raise issues of social responsibility, drawing attention to a wide range of environmental topics, such as the interaction between different living organisms and their interaction with the environment," reads the invitation to the exhibition.
The exhibition is part of a project carried out by three museums - the Museum of Contemporary Art of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina in Novi Sad and the Božidar Jakac Galley.
It is designed as a travelling exhibition, to be presented in all three participating cities - Novi Sad, Banja Luka and Kostanjevica na Krki.
