The Maribor Synagogue is hosting an exhibition honouring accomplished Jewish women with ties to Slovakia.

The display comes from the Bratislava Museum of Jewish Culture, which is part of the Slovak National Museum.

It pays tribute to women of Jewish heritage who were either born in what is present-day Slovakia, lived there or were of Slovakian descent, and whose work had international reach.

The curators focused on women from science, arts and business.

The selection is far from comprehensive, but the aim was to present interesting stories, the Maribor Synagogue says.
