The 30th Tour of Slovenia, the most prestigious road cycling race in the country, will see 154 professional riders compete for the green jersey through five stages that will also take in all the neighbouring countries.

The race will see six UCI World Tour teams - Bahrain-Victorious, Bora-Hansgrohe, EF Education-EasyPost, Jayco-AlUla, UAE Team Emirates and Groupama-FDJ.

It will open on 12 June with a 192 km stage between Murska Sobota and Ormož that will take the riders across the border to Austria, Hungary and Croatia on the way.

After the stage between Žalec and Rogaška Slatina, the third stage from Ljubljana to Nova Gorica will also cross the border into Italy.

The mountain stage from Škofljica to the Krvavec ski resort is likely to decide the overall winner or else the final stage from Šentjernej to the traditional finish line in Novo Mesto that also includes a climb to the Trška Gora.

The record edition of the Tour of Slovenia in terms of the number of riders will be broadcast live by Eurosport and the national broadcaster RTV Slovenija, bringing 11 televised hours of elite racing.
