Concerts and theatre at Škuc Gallery

Jul 19 - Jul 28
Ljubljana

Let's Meet in Front of Škuc, the annual festival at the Škuc Gallery in the Ljubljana Old Town, will provide free entertainment for kids and adults.

While shows and workshops for children will be held in the afternoons, there will be concerts and theatre productions in the evenings. In all, the programme features 50 events over ten days.

Concerts will range from jazz to world music, indie pop and flamenco. The performers include 70s-inspired psychedelic band Moonset, folk band Noreia, folk and chanson singer Katja Šulc, indie-pop band Tretji Kanu, duo Tomaž Hostnik and Mitja Krećić, and Veronika Nikolovska with poetry set to music.

The festival will open with a theatre production for children, followed by two exhibitions, one by young fashion designers from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering and the other by young photographer Pia Hočevar.

A concert by saxophonist Igor Lumpert and his band Svoboda in collaboration with the Imago Sloveniae project will wrap up the opening evening in the Old Square.

Events will be held on the stage in front of the Škuc Gallery, in the gallery rooms and in the atrium.

Apart from concerts and theatre productions, there will also be literary events such as author meet-and-greets and the Škuc Market with books from the Škuc publishing house and Slovenian Literature Centre.

The festival attracts a lot of tourists and foreigners who often attend workshops and concerts, while theatre productions draw mainly Slovenian audiences.
