Ljubljana Castle Jazz Club

Sept 13 - Dec 27
Ljubljana

The 8th season of the Jazz Club at Ljubljana Castle will see a line-up of acclaimed musicians and bands from Slovenia and abroad perform concerts every Friday night between 13 September and 27 December.

The Rock Hall of Ljubljana Castle will reverberate in the rhythms of jazz, soul, funk, rock, pop, blues and tango and Latin music.

The opening concert on 13 September will feature Manouche, a Slovenian band who play an original blend of styles, which they call electro gipsy swing. Their music also features standard jazz techniques, especially on the two solo instruments, guitar and trumpet.

Taking the stage later in September will be the Mascara Quartet, who play Portuguese fado and Argentinian tango, and the actor and impersonator Klemen Slakonja and his Small Band.

The Pukl/Črnčec Concordia Quartet, Bossa de Novo, and Jon Onabowu, a representative of the London jazz scene, and his all-star band will give concerts in October, along with singer and pianist Zali.

The month will wrap up with a Halloween party featuring the Ljubljana trio Auto and the rock band River.
