Sweet Istria
Sept 28 Koper
A variety of sweet and savoury treats await visitors at the annual Altroke Sweet Istria festival in the seaside city of Koper.
Confectioners, chefs, winemakers, distillers and other vendors will put up almost a hundred stalls in the Ukmar Square.
Visitors will be able to enjoy truffle dishes, Istrian air dried ham, homemade cheese, tasty seafood delicacies and a wide selection of desserts, including the traditional delicious fritule, peach-shaped pastries, pancakes and tiramisu.
The festival will also celebrate the 500th anniversary of Koper with a cake made especially for the occasion. It contains typical Istrian ingredients such as lavender, olive oil and fragola grapes.
The accompanying programme will include a variety of events for children, a tiramisu workshop, the announcement of the winner of the best Muscat wine and a concert by the band Ne Me Jugat acoustic.
