Wineries from the northeastern Štajerska region will showcase their young wines at the Maribor Minorite Church venue on 25 October and at Ljubljana's Festival Hall on 6 November.

The wine shows are held as part of the Pubec brand, which promotes Štajerska as the country's main destination for young wines.

Natalija Cvetko, the head of the Pubec project, says the wine shows is one of the biggest events in Maribor after St Martin's Day celebrations.

Visitors will be able to taste the wines of 18 wineries, from the region's largest ones to small family ones.

This year's grape harvest was below average in terms of volumes, but experts say wines are set to be of high quality.
