CoFestival of contemporary dance
Nov 22 2024 - Nov 29 2024 Ljubljana
CoFestival, a festival of contemporary dance, will feature productions from several countries at several venues across Ljubljana between 22 and 29 November.
The 13th edition of the festival is focusing on the theme of "beings of human origin" in a reference to a quote by Serbian artist Vujica Rešin Tucić.
The festival will open at Kino Šiška with Subjects, a production in which French choreographer Sylvain Huc delves into the nature of people. The show will be followed by an admission-free DJ party.
Sonja Pregrad explores the geometry of plants in O and Sanja Nešković Peršin "creates a body beyond time and specific subjectivity" in her solo production A Moment Before.
Some of the selected productions deal with the relationship between the physical and the digital, such as AI.
These include Screamage by Jan Rozman and Yugen, which Chris Ziegler and Christine Bonansea conceived as a dance between a dancer and an avatar.
The festival will close at the Old Power Station with G Rita by Portuguese choreographer Piny, who created a kind of consecration of the feminine spring with a collective of 13 women from different Portuguese colonies.
