A new production of Die Fledermaus (The Flittermouse or The Bat), an operetta composed by Johann Strauss II to a libretto by Karl Haffner and Richard Genée, will premiere at Cankarjev Dom on 23 January in a co-production with the Slovenian National Theatre (SNG) Opera and Ballet Ljubljana.

This high-spirited tale of intrigue, disguise, surprising twists and denouements in lavish costumes has received thousands of performances all over the world.

Directed by Krešimir Dolenčič and choreographed by Lukas Zuschlag, the latest production will feature the SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana soloists, choir, corps de ballet and orchestra under the baton of Ayrton Desimpelaere.
