Cankarjev Dom is hosting an exhibition on one of the most innovative and provocative Slovenian theatre directors and authors entitled Dušan Jovanović - Cultural Terrorist.

Opening four years after his death, the first retrospective exhibition on Jovanović (1939-2020) focuses on his work as theatre director, his plays and other texts, and the influence he had on his younger colleagues as a professor at the Ljubljana Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television.

The Belgrade-born director, who spent most of his life in Ljubljana, reformed theatre in the former Yugoslavia. This earned him and several fellow theatre creators the label of cultural terrorists, coined by Josip Vidmar (1895-1992), a Slovenian literary and theatre critic and politician.
