Francophone Film Festival
Mar 20 2025 - Mar 26 2025 Ljubljana
The 13th annual Francophone Film Festival will see six screenings at the Kinodvor Cinema and the Slovenian Cinematheque in Ljubljana between 20 and 26 March.
As an observer member of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, Slovenia celebrates International Francophonie Day every year with the festival.
The series will open with a screening of Savages, an animated film by Claude Barras, at Kinodvor.
Also on show will be Holy Cow, a debut feature by Louise Courvoisier about a youngster turned dairy farmer, and L'Animation française, cet autre cinéma, a documentary by Mickaël Royer that celebrates the rise and creativity of French animation on the global stage.
Family Therapy, a family dramedy by Slovenian auteur Sonja Prosenc, will also be on the programme, along with Maldoror, a crime thriller film inspired by a notorious Belgian real-life case by Fabrice Du Welz, and Ru, a Canadian drama directed by Charles-Olivier Michaud.
The festival is being sponsored by the French Institute in Slovenia.
