The Volčji Potok Arboretum, just a short trip northeast of Ljubljana, is starting the season with the Spring Flower and Tulip Show.

Thousands of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, saffrons, imperial tulips, sea bulbs, camassia and other flowers are on show every day, including on weekends and public holidays.

Tulips have been planted in large beds in combination with spring biennials and other colourful plants.

Ornamental cherry trees and magnolias also flower in April, and the first rhododendrons bloom towards the end of April.
