Slovenian basketball superstar Luka Dončić and his fiancée Anamaria Goltes have welcomed their first baby, a daughter, whom they named Gabriela, revealing the news on Instagram on 1 December.

The couple posted the announcement photo in which they each hold one of their infant daughter's hands just hours after Dallas Mavericks announced Dončić would be missing a matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies due to personal reasons.

Dončić, 24, and Goltes, 25, announced their engagement on social media on 7 July when they shared a photo of Dončić proposing to Goltes on his knee at Lake Bled.

The basketball star reportedly met Goltes, who is a model, at the age of 12 while on holiday with his family in Croatia.

This was the first time this season of NBA that Dončić missed a game. The Slovenian, who is coming out of four consecutive All-Star seasons, currently ranks third in NBA scoring, averaging 31.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.9 assists in 17 games.
