Slovenian basketball superstar Luka Dončić has been excelling not only in the NBA but also in supporting the less fortunate. With the help of his foundation he has distributed Christmas presents to 275 children, teens and newborns in the US and Slovenia.

The 24-year-old hosted, met up and provided gifts for 50 children from Dallas at a game of his Dallas Mavericks on 20 December.

On the following day he also provided gifts for babies and parents in a Fort Worth paediatric NICU unit in the city and offered financial support to parents with mounting bills.

The four-time all-NBA first team and all-star, who became a father on 1 December, did not forget about his homeland either. His foundation hosted a party with presents for 68 children in the Malči Belič youth centre in Ljubljana, and for 56 in the Veržej youth rehabilitation centre.

"My heart has always been with kids, and I know that being in a hospital, a youth centre or facing hard times during the holidays is really tough. I want to do whatever I can to make these kids' days just a bit happier and better," said Dončić, who left his home in Ljubljana at the age of 13 to move to Madrid in pursuit of a bright future in the world of basketball.
